Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) clinched their first UEFA Champions League title in stunning fashion on Saturday night, delivering a record-breaking 5-0 win against Inter Milan at Munich’s Allianz Arena. Under the leadership of Luis Enrique, PSG's youthful squad produced a performance for the ages, rewriting history in the most lopsided final in the tournament's seven-decade history.

Teen Sensation Desire Doue Shines Bright

The star of the night was 19-year-old Desire Doue, who contributed two goals and one assist in a standout performance. Doue assisted Achraf Hakimi’s opening goal in the 12th minute, marking the fastest goal in a Champions League final since 2019. Shortly after, the teenager found the net himself with a deflected strike in the 20th minute to double PSG’s advantage.

Doue wasn’t done. He returned after halftime to score again in the 63rd minute, capitalizing on a clever setup by Vitinha and Ousmane Dembélé. Substitute Senny Mayulu, another teenage talent, rounded off the scoring in the 86th minute after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia netted PSG’s fourth goal with a solo run.

Record-Breaking Victory and Tactical Brilliance

The 5-0 triumph stands as the largest winning margin in Champions League final history, surpassing all previous records in both the European Cup and Champions League eras. The win highlights the effectiveness of PSG's strategic rebuild following the departure of superstar Kylian Mbappé.

“This is a dream come true,” said Vitinha, who played a pivotal role in midfield. “We've worked for this moment all season. It’s not luck—it’s hard work.”

This title comes after years of massive investment from the club's Qatari ownership, fulfilling a long-standing goal. PSG previously reached the final in 2020 but lost to Bayern Munich.

Luis Enrique Makes Champions League History

Luis Enrique, in his debut season with the Parisians, becomes a two-time Champions League-winning manager, having lifted the trophy with FC Barcelona in 2015. He praised the team’s chemistry and resilience throughout the campaign.

“We set this as our target from the start of last season,” Enrique said in a post-match interview. “This group of players and fans has built something powerful.”

PSG also completed a treble this season, having already secured both the Ligue 1 title and Coupe de France.

Disappointment for Inter Milan

Inter Milan, chasing their first Champions League crown since 2010, were thoroughly outclassed. Manager Simone Inzaghi admitted his team was second-best on the night.

“PSG deserved this win. We’re disappointed but proud of our journey to the final,” Inzaghi said.

Inter created few chances, with Marcus Thuram’s first-half header being the only real threat. Defensive lapses, particularly in the second half, allowed PSG to dominate possession and dictate the pace of the match.
